Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar signs Missy Hackett for 2008 Canadian Women’s Nationals
DECEMBER 7, 2007

Team Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar is proud to announce the signing of Missy Hackett for 2008. The CMRC Women’s National Motocross Series has been growing, and Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar is fortunate to have a rising-star like Hackett on board.

Hackett finished the 2007 Women’s series in third, with consistent top-five finishes at every round. She will be competing aboard Suzuki RM-Z250Fs from the factory semi.

Hackett, 17, hails from Chilliwack, BC, and finished sixth overall in the 2006 Canadian Women’s Nationals. Her steady climb to the top is remarkable for her age and her skills continue to skyrocket every time she hits the track. “I’ve only been riding six years,” she laughs.  “My dad had a trail bike and I just wanted to try it. I finally got a trainer last year who is helping me with my skills. I’m just happy to be able to be at all the races and keep up with the girls. I mean, I’d only read about them in the magazines!  I wish I could have started riding when I was three or four, because then I could be world champion by now! I guess that will have to be my 2011 goal.”  Securing a spot on a factory team is a dream for every motocross racer, Hackett included. “I just found out yesterday and I’m really excited! My parents are really happy for me. We drove to all the Nationals last year and it was neat to see the entire country. It was great because my dad and I got to see it together. I’m really determined and I want to win this year and this is a really great team that I know will help me a lot.” Getting used to a new team and a new bike can be stressful even for seasoned veterans, but Hackett is unfazed.  “Two Wheel helped me out with a Suzuki at Walton, so I kind of know what the bikes are like. I can adjust from bike to bike really quickly, ride with bent bars or whatever, so this is no problem for me.”

She’s confident and incredibly talented. Now with factory support you can bet the yellow blur leading the pack at the 2008 Women’s Nationals will be Missy Hackett and her Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar RM-Z250F!
