PerformX Motocross is proud to announce its debut in contesting the 2008 CMRC Pro Nationals. As title sponsor, Team PerformX will manage and develop rider Kyle McGlynn, who will compete in MX2 and selected MX1 rounds.
“After nearly 10 years of training JSR, Blair Morgan and the likes, I felt like I had gained some knowledge and experience in what it takes,” says PerformX founder and chief, Todd Schumlick. “When Kyle [McGlynn] approached me about training him for the 2008 season, I could see an athlete and person with all the right qualities for success. It just seemed like the right time to put a team together and Kyle best defined what we were looking for in a rider,” says Todd. “I have a good friend of mine, Warren Barrow, joining me in managing Team PerformX, including our U.S. and Canadian motocross camps and schools” again says Todd.

“Our approach is to completely manage and develop a rider from the grassroots to the door of a factory ride,” says Team PerformX manager Warren Barrow. “The emphasis is placed on rider development, and no detail is left untouched. We hope Team PerformX and Kyle McGlynn best showcase our efforts” says Warren.
“In 2007 I had little or no guidance in my preparations for the nationals. With top 10 results, I was very motivated in improving my results for 2008,” says Team PerformX rider Kyle McGlynn. “Knowing of the success of riders like Jean-Sebastian Roy, I thought a good start would be to work with Todd [Schumlick] of PerformX. Once I got started on my new training regiment, Todd and Warren approached me about joining the Team PerformX, and I felt as if their guidance best suited my future development,” says Kyle.
Through this season’s CMRC nationals, Team PerformX will showcase an athlete who has been guided and managed through all levels of development. In 2008, this athlete is Kyle McGlynn.
What are the details of Kyle’s preperation for 2008? In brief, Dec./07 Kyle began his intense PerformX conditioning program, which he was able to complete at home in Grande Prairie, AB. After 2 months of off-season training, Kyle and PerformX headed to California. From Feb through April, the PerformX Motocross Camp was attended by various amateur and professional athletes, all looking to improve their conditioning (both physical and mental) and riding performance. During his period in California, Kyle’s conditioning changed to pre-season training, and all followed a strict plan of development.
This ‘plan’ included all details (ie. daily/weekly riding goals, performance sheets, bike testing, fitness goals, nutrition, mental training, race schedule, travel plans, budget costs, and more). To PerformX, the ‘plan’ is the most important part of developing any athlete, otherwise it’s a shot in the dark.
