It’s been a busy couple of weeks here in Calgary, with Iain Hayden, Steve Taylor from Factory Yamaha’s SnowCross team out training as well Logan Christian from Christian Bros. Racing making his first trip out to Cowtown to join the Evolved MX family!

The four of us, Steve Taylor, Ashlee (Steve’s better half…LOL), Logan and I loaded up on Saturday and headed down to Raymond to watch Evolved MX athlete Jared Petruska race at the Western Canadian Amateur Motorsports Championships, as well as checking in with our boy Kyle Beaton. It was a day of great racing and hot weather, with Jared winning all 3 classes that he entered in commanding fashion.
Aboard his Bow Cycle Kawasaki’s the 14 year old Jared looked strong and charged in all of his moto’s winning Championships in MX2 Junior, Supermini and GP Junior. Jared has been part of our program for the better part of 9 months now and his hard work paid off this weekend.
Jared has a never quit attitude and is always looking for ways to improve his performance, just ask Jolene Van Vugt who trained with young Jared one day and was amazed at his athletic abilities. What’s next on the Strathmore native’s list, well his dad Jerry is trying to arrange for him to race Ponca in the US and then of course Walton were Jared is looking to repeat his performance this time coming out with the coveted Bronze Boot!
