Due to a transponder malfunction, there are no practice times from today's optional practice in Regina. Since we don't really know how everybody stacked up, we thought we'd just run a few photos. Here's a few shots from the lens of James Lissimore....

The conditions today were dry and dusty so Brett Lee took things into his own hands and grabbed a hose. Steve Matthes is in town this weeekend to help out with the Destroyer Films/Racer X Canada Moto Show and cheer on his boy KD Beets. Steve's sporting a mean "Kenny Loggins" beard. Label It Honda's Davey Fraser is not afraid to run the new pink FXR gear. Fraser is currently 15th overall in the MX2 class. Local boy, Shawn Maffenbeier was chosen to run the helmet cam today. Maffenbeier is 19th in MX2 points. Royal Distributing/Thor/Riverside KTM's Eric Nye looks to maintain his comfortable 29 point lead in the MX2 class this weekend. Rockstar OTSFF Suzuki's Jeremy Medaglia is part of the 3 rider tie for second in the MX2 class. The other two riders tied for secind are Aron Harvey and Kyle Beaton. The pressure is on for those three riders and it will be interesting to see who comes out on top after Sunday's motos. Last week's winner, Monster Energy's Tucker Hibbert is back this weekend for his second, and final Canadian National of the season. Fellow Ontarians and former Machine Racing teammates, Jay Burke and Kyle Keast. Both riders are going fast this year with Burke in 8th overall and Keast in 5th. Regina is the hometown race for multi-time Canadian champion, Toyota Yamaha BlackfootDirect.com Fox Racing's Blair Morgan. He's having a great season and continues to improve at each round. Morgan is in 4th overall, 5 points ahead of Keast and 6 points back of Facciotti. Rockstar OTSFF Suzuki's Mitch Cooke was looking like he was having fun in practice. Cooke is in 13th overall and finished 6-13 last year in Regina. Les Chutes Kawasaki's Marco Dube looked smooth. Dube was strong here last year, finishing 5-5. Toyota/Yamaha/Blackfootdirect.com/Fox Racing's Colton Facciotti looks to keep his moto win streak alive this weekend. He took the overall here last year with 1-4 motos. Monster Energy/Cernic's Kawasaki's Dusty Klatt is the best bet to beat Facciotti. Klatt put in a dominating performance the last time he raced here in 2006. This is also the track where he wrapped up his first MX2 West title back in 2004, beating Ryan Morais in the final moto. Regina marks the return of the Women's national series, and reigning Canadian champion Heidi Cooke of the Monster Energy/Cernic's Kawasaki team. FXR's Kevin Urquhart. Kevin is still looking to show the speed that he displayed last year in the MX2 West class. He finished 3rd in the first MX2 moto here last year so he should be confident. See you at the races.
