Results from Round 6: Edmonton, Alberta

The heat is on! One week after Team Toyota Yamaha BlackfootDirect.com Fox Racing's Aron Harvey finally won a round, he continued his roll and won both motos in Edmonton. Royal Distributing Thor Riverside KTM Canada's Eric Nye said in an earlier interview on Canadian Motocross Radio that he wanted to wrap up the title a round or two early and relax but 50 points a weekend can sure cut into a points lead quickly! His once seemingly insurmountable 38 point lead is now down to 12 and we have a title fight with three rounds to go. Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar's Jeremy Medaglia rebounded from a tough weekend in Nanaimo and made the podium with 2-6 moto scores. Is it a coincidence that Kiwi, Mason Phillips, is coming on strong at the same time as Cody Cooper in the AMA nationals? Remember, it's winter in New Zealand right now so maybe they just need a few rounds to get used to the heat (just kidding Mason!). Phillips is riding great and maintained his third place in the standings but Kyle Beaton, Teddy Maier and Medaglia are all within striking distance. Check out the results from two of our RXC Factory Riders from last season, the twins, Jared and Parker Allison. Jared is now close to top 10 in the standings and Parker, who missed most of last season with a broken elbow, had his best ride of the season, 14-10 for 12th overall. Unfortunately this is the final round for the Alberta twins as they cannot afford the trip east.

Wow! Courtesy of another 50-point weekend, Team Toyota Yamaha BlackfootDirect.com Fox Racing's Colton Facciotti is now back in the lead of the MX1 class despite missing Round 2 with a fractured collarbone. Facciotti's teammate,  Blair Morgan, is also riding well, earning second overall and stealing points from Facciotti's title contenders, Tyler Medaglia and Dusty Klatt. At this rate, Yamaha USA will be running ads from the Canadian nationals!

Suzuki OTSFF Rockstar's Tyler Medaglia lost the MX1 points lead that he has enjoyed since Round 2 in Gopher Dunes. No matter, it has been an incredible season for the likable rookie MX1 rider and the series is not over, Sand-Del-Lee is only two rounds away. Go get 'em Tyler! Special mention to another RXC Factory Rider, Saskatchewan's Kyle Murphy, who scored his first points of the season, 18-13 for 16th overall. Way to go Kyle!
